Not entirely sure about some of the previous poor reviews but my experience was very good. The restaurant is located in a nondescript strip plaza and there is very basic seating in the plain interior. Perhaps not a place to impress someone on a first date, but the food is absolutely delicious!
There are only a few items on offer - oxtail, chicken, goat and soup. These are served in clamshell takeout containers in a couple of sizes. You have a choice of plain rice or traditional rice with peas. Prices are very reasonable and they only take cash.
I am not sure how long this place has been in business but there seems to be a steady stream of customers coming through. They have hit upon the tried and true formula of having a limited menu but making simple, hearty and authentic home cooked meals. Reminded me of what one will find in Jamaica... at the places the locals eat, not the tourist traps.
My Jamaican friend loved the food and said it reminded him of home. I could not agree more. -

Food taste really bad. The meat they give you is barely anything and the rice is dry and tastes old. Gotta be the worst Jamaican food I've ever tried. The place smells really bad, and the restaurant presentation looks really bad.

Poor customer service
Not the worst jerk chicken but close to it. Three pieces of dry lukewarm chicken for $11. The rice and coleslaw appears to be a day or so old.
Not impressed. Done with the place -

The best Jamaican food in the GTA! They have your home made style Oxtail (makes you wanna suck the bones) and the Curry goat will have you talking for days. The service there is very fast and the staff is amazing! The only take cash but they do have a atm in store for your convince.

A good friend of my mine was hyping up this place for their curry goat. Last week I went to see what it was all about, but they were having work done on their vent hoods. I found it odd there was no sign up or that nobody working in there came out and say "Sorry no food today." Since I am one who believes in 2nd chances I decided to do back today, and I brought a friend. "My friend says they make the best curry goat." She was familiar and says she orders a tray of their fried chicken annually for a party that she hosts. The feat in that restaurant actually lived up to the name JAMAICA HOUSE, I felt as if I was visiting a house in Country with no A/C. We opted to eat in the car. After the first bite I knew something wasn't right. We continued but realized this food is trash. I went back into the establishment to explain that we were dissatisfied, we were told that they do not accept food taken out of the restaurant. The person who dished the food kissed his teeth and fanned me off TWICE. They gave me the number of the owner/manager but that was no use to me and I threw that away. We ended up leaving the bland goat on their counter. I will not support this establishment or recommend that anyone try that food again. I hope my friend finds another place to order her chicken from too! I believe in 2nd chances not thirds!
